I'm Pedro, and I paint watercolors from Valencia. I come from the world of graphic design, where I worked for 20 years, but fine art painting always ran alongside it — I've worked through several techniques over the years until specializing in watercolor, especially with line wash: ink and color on the same sheet. Now I want to share that work through this project.

Every commission starts the same way: someone tells me what they want to remember — a portrait, a pet, a corner of their city — and I try to find a way to paint it without losing either the technique or the emotion. I'm not after photographic perfection; I'm after a piece that feels alive.

I work with 100% cotton watercolor paper and professional-grade pigments, always a one-of-a-kind piece, always hand-painted. You can see the results in the commission portfolio, or read on the blog for more detail on how the line wash technique works.


My way of painting

The line gives it shape.
The color, layer by layer, adds volume, light and texture.

That's how I explain line wash whenever someone asks how I work — no fancier philosophy than that.

Why Pensamientos de Colores

I don't work out of a studio with a team, or with automated processes — every commission passes through my own hands from start to finish, from the first time I read your message to the packaging before I ship it. That means a realistic delivery time (not a "factory" promise), but it also means the piece you receive has had, literally, all of my attention.

I chose the name "Pensamientos de Colores" because it's exactly what I try to capture in every piece: not an exact copy of a photo, but the feeling behind it. If you'd like to go deeper into how I work the technique day to day, I've got several notes on the blog about the process.
